BOE to manufacture iPhone SE 4 displays
According to an industry source, BOE will likely be supplying the majority, if not all, of the 6.1-inch OLED panels for the upcoming iPhone SE 4. It has been reported that Samsung withdrew from the competition due to Apple’s lower pricing offer per panel.
The report indicates that a single 6.1-inch OLED unit costs approximately $30 at Samsung, whereas Apple proposed $25. Additionally, the same source suggests that Apple’s price is even lower compared to what Chinese manufacturers are asking for.
With Samsung stepping back, BOE and Tianma are left as key players, with BOE likely receiving all orders for the iPhone SE 4.
Insiders reveal that Samsung was not deeply invested in the deal initially due to minimal profit margins, so when Apple demanded an even lower unit price, Samsung decided to terminate the negotiations.
