Samsung announces new budget range smartphone with MediaTek Helio G85 SoC


Samsung introduced a new affordable smartphone in its A-series portfolio – the Galaxy A06. Samsung’s new budget range smartphone brings an impressive set of features to the table including a large screen, long-lasting battery, decent processor, and much more. Let’s take a quick look at the detailed specs and pricing of the Galaxy A06 smartphone. 

Samsung Galaxy A06 has a large 6.7-inch HD+ display with a 90Hz refresh rate support, ensuring a smoother scrolling experience. For lenses, it has a dual rear camera setup, consisting of a 50MP primary camera and a secondary unknown sensor. 

Powered by MediaTek Helio G85 processor paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage which is further expandable up to 1TB via microSD card. It runs on Samsung OneUI OS based on Andorid 14 out of the box. Speaking of software updates, Samsung promises two major Android updates (up to Android 16) and four years of security patches, which is impressive.

Samsung packs a massive 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast wired charging support. You get a side-mounted fingerprint sensor which also doubles as a power button. 

The Samsung Galaxy A06 starts at VND 3,190,000 ($115) for the base 4GB + 64GB model, while the 6GB +128GB model retails at VND 3,790,000 ($151). The smartphone will go on sale starting on August 22 in Vietnam. It will also be available in more markets in the upcoming weeks.
