Spotify rolls out music videos to Premium subscribers in 11 markets

Spotify has just announced the introduction of music videos into its app in 11 markets: the UK, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Brazil, Colombia, Philippines, Indonesia, and Kenya. Initially in beta, the feature will have a limited selection of videos featuring global artists like Ed Sheeran, Doja Cat, and Ice Spice, as well as “local favorites” such as Aluna and Asake.

To view music videos, users must be in one of these 11 markets and be a Premium subscriber. The videos can be accessed through Spotify’s apps on iOS and Android, as well as the website and TV apps.

This browser does not support the video element.

To switch from audio to video, simply use the Switch to Video toggle when listening to a compatible song. This will start playing the music video from the beginning within the Now Playing view. At any time, you can switch back to audio by selecting Switch to Audio. Watching a video on a phone in landscape mode will make the video fullscreen.

Spotify plans to continuously improve and enhance the music videos feature based on feedback from users and artists. The video catalog will expand gradually, as will the availability of the feature in other regions.
