The cheaper Galaxy Z Fold6 version might cost way less than you were expecting
For quite some time now, there have been rumors circulating about Samsung’s plans to disrupt the foldable smartphone market by introducing a more affordable version of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold6 alongside the flagship device – most likely scheduled for launch in early to mid July.
This budget-friendly foldable device is now rumored to come with a surprisingly attractive price tag – under $800. This is less than half of what the Fold5 initially retailed for. While this may equate to around €919 in other regions, the prospect of a foldable smartphone at this price point is truly remarkable and has the potential to significantly boost sales in the foldable market.
However, it’s important to note that this pricing rumor is yet to be confirmed. The same source suggests that the cheaper Fold6 will feature similar cameras to the Fold5, given that they are not particularly costly components. Samsung is even rumored to source these components from the same suppliers.
With Huawei making significant inroads into Samsung’s global foldable market share, this more affordable Fold6 may be Samsung’s response to the competition. For the overall market dynamics, we remain hopeful that this will be the case.
